Gwillim Kynith is a 15th century Welshman raised in Castle Caldicot, Monmouthshire, Wales. Having lost both parents to the plague, he was raised by Humphrey, First Duke of Buckingham, and his family. Showing exceptional prowess with the bow and a keen ability at stalking game, he was dubbed the “kynith” at an early age. He became well versed in music, dancing, and other Courtly ways within the halls of grand Caldicot, and studied the art of stained glass in the nearby village.
In recognition for his Service to his local group and his activity within the Kingdom, Gwillim was awarded arms (Or, a coney and fox combatant gules within an orle gules) by Their Royal Majesties King Thorvald and Queen Svava (January 2005).
Gwillim is a Companion of the Order of the Troubadour and of the Order of Terpsichore, Orders of Honor within the East Kingdom for vocal entertainment and teaching dance and courtly movement, respectively. In addition, he is a Companion of the Order of the Silver Crescent and the Order of the Maunche, East Kingdom Orders of High Merit for service and excellence in the arts and sciences, respectively.
Today, Gwillim lives in the Barony of Endewearde, geographic center of the East Kingdom. He has been served there as Endewearde’s Chronicler, Seneschal, Captain of the North Tower Archery Company, Endewearde’s First Archer, local dancemaster, bard, event steward, a brewer, a cook, a scribe, and as an artisan of glass and wood. Most recently, Gwillim was appointed as Endewearde’s Minister of Arts and Sciences.
Gwillim is married to lady Constancia de Vianne. Together, they are members of the household of Gamol Gat in Endewearde, and of Ancaster in the Barony of the Bridge.
